Who else thinks Star Wars Episode III that one scene is uncalled for?

The share when Anakin turns bad and goes after the children, it's over the top and uncalled for. Remember that part?

"DW" & "John N" are 100% rectify with regards to this scene ... it was actually one of the most indispensable scenes in the entire saga ... not just person movie.

Many fans say that Anakin's decent from Iconic hero to Iconic villain is much to abrupt and not actually believable in the films. In some ways they are right ... from a sure point of view. When using just the movies as a reference this is altogether true. The problem is that it was too much to be put into the movie(s) ... it probably would have taken a whole 2 hour movie in and of itself to show all the "triggers" that sent Anakin on his path to darkness. If you actually want to see the whole picture of Anakin's fall, which most casual fans actually don't care about, you have to read the books of the EU and watch the animated series. The novel version of ep III is exceedingly necessary in showing Anakin's state of mind. In truth any book that Anakin is in shows little clues that point to him falling further into darkness.

That scene and Anakin's "bursting into flames" scene were two of the ones that a lot, and I do mean A LOT, of thought was put into. Lucas knew that those scenes were necessitated in the movie but what he didn't recognise was to what extent he would have to go to in order to get all over just what was happening. The temple scene with Anakin & the younglings was the one that was the more necessary of the two.

This scene was meant to show that Anakin had embraced the dark side getting Darth Vader both in name and deed. It was the point where Anakin Skywalker ceased and Darth Vader began. Anakin Skywalker would have never slaughtered all those younglings but Darth Vader wouldn't have blinked an eye doing it. In the end that scene was as close to "perfect" as it could have ever been. You do not see the death of the younglings or who did it but the scene makes it crystal clear on those two points without even showing it. They were all killed and they were all killed by the hand of Darth Vader.
